Gentoo in a Thinkpad T60

Hi everyone, today I will show you the thing that changed my life, installing gentoo in my "new" T60.

How did that happen? I tried a lot of distros in this laptop but for some reason most of them gave me a lot of headaches like random crashes, random -BEEP- and problems for turning off, and of course it was slower than I though it would be. So in one of those distrohops I though on gentoo, because it's known for being fast and lightweight, but takes a lot of time to install every package (because it compiles the package with optimizations for your specific system), it's also a distro that can burn your pc since at installation it uses 100% of your CPU.

So I did it, the installation wasn't hard, and it has taken a day or so to finish (I though it would take a week or something), it could be even least if Clang wasn't required at the moment (later my system deleted it because no package required it, I wonder why it was installed on the first place...). at the first boot, I instantly noticed the difference between this and all the other distros, even through I was just in the tty, everything felt more responsive, even just writing! it did take more time to boot for some reason but at that moment I didn't care since it is the price of reviving a PC(?).

Then I Installed my favorite Window Manager, dwm, I wanted to see if all the problems were gone, the random crash and beeps that make me hate my life, and they were! not only that, but dwm felt snappier than ever! idk why but with debian and void it just felt really heavy to run, and crashed more than often, I really though my system had something wrong but with gentoo I have never experimented a crash again, and the BEEPs where also gone. Also some problems that I had with some programs where also gone, like my compositor not working, or firefox bugging with "recommended performance settings"

So at first I loved Gentoo because it really saved the 100 USD that I spend on buying this machine, but it only get better, because I learn about the USE=flags, and portage, and overlays, damn, the level of customization is insane, I would like to install this on my main desktop but it has a problem that makes it overheat when using 100% of CPU (idk what is yet), soon maybe I will fix it because I cannot use anything confortably except this now.

Long life Gentoo!
