Step 1. Download Rufus.
Step 2. Download a Gentoo Linux iso. I recommend "Stage 3 - OpenRC"
Step 3. Flash a pendrive with the iso, with the help of rufus, after that boot from the usb instead of your hard drive.
Step 4. Install Gentoo with the manual.
Step 5. Once you get your system working, if you don't have a graphical environment install OpenBox, if you have one and it isn't a Window Manager, delete it all and install OpenBox
Step 6. Learn the commands of the terminal, for managing the system only use the terminal.
Step 7. Get used to it, if you fell more confy with another window manager then install it, the point is that you force yourself to learn how to use it all from the terminal like god intended.
Step 8. If you do it all then you can say that you know how to use linux.
Tip 1: Learn how to use Vim
Tip 2: Don't use Wayland, it bugs a lot and lacks many characteristics that X has, and it isn't for anything outside of Kde (trash) and Gnome (bigger trash).
Tip 3: If you need a program of windows try Wine, but remember that linux is made for using linux programs.
Tip 4: Remember that Linux was made to be used in the terminal.
